Visual Storytelling

Below is a look at my experience in visual storytelling through time-based media using programs such as After Effects and Premiere Pro. Using time-based media to build out a story taught me skills in research, ideation, script-writing, storyboarding, image creation, image sequencing and editing of sound and image.

I very much enjoyed building out a story through visual media, so I wanted to include the videos I produced in my portfolio.

Created Hardwood Process Video

Created Hardwood is a hardwood furniture store that specializes in custom pieces. I was tasked with creating a video that broke down the process of creating a custom piece (in this case a conference room table) in order for their customers to better understand how it would work.

1959/2020 Product Connection

To begin this assignment, each student chose a product from Jay Doblins 1959 book, 100 Best Product Designs, and a product from 2020's, "100 Great Designs of Modern Times." We then had to create a two-minute animation exploring an aspect that these two products had in common. Researching the products, developing a narrative, writing a script, storyboarding, and learning new motion design programs were all incorporated into this project.

Winter Market Interview

This assignment was to document and create a three minute interview-style video on the design that another industrial design team was producing for the 3rd Annual Winter Market. It was a way to learn editing software as well as communicating with the team to create the narrative they wished to portray for the Winter Market.
